AReU is a mailing list (reflector) devoted to the various discussions and interests of the Amateur Radio-electronics Union, "AReU" for short.
AReU is a diverse group of radio amateurs from all walks of life, who have a love and a enthusiasm for amateur radio. We don't all have the same interests, but we enjoy sharing our experiences, for the benefit of others.
We come together in monthly forums, on HF and VHF from time to time, and via internet e-mail.
We seek to foster and encourage good "on the air" operating practices, courtesy at all times, and a personal desire to grow in technical and operating proficiency. We are active in antenna trials and evaluations, related electronics programs and demonstrations, field day, etc.
Our meetings are focused on friendship, amateur radio history (including boatanchors, etc.), current technical subjects and future projects.
Club business and routines are conducted via e-mail and snail mail, saving our meeting times for educational and informative purposes.
Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, in the Fellowship Hall - building "C," Bell Shoals Baptist Church, Brandon, FL, (East of Tampa). The Fellowship Hall is on the North side of the Church complex, on Overhill Drive, enter the first door on the West side of the building.
This mail reflector is primarily purposed to enable more effective communications and encourage the members and other interested parties. Suitable subjects for posting are: club information, technical and operating aids, articles, etc. Other areas of general amateur radio interest are invited, as long as they have applicability to the membership as a whole. Any interested licensed radio amateur is welcome to participate in the club and the list.
Please note: because of the complexities of attaching software, we suggest it not be done here. If needed, an FTP site can be arranged.
Also, there are numerous other outlets for selling equipment, so we prefer they be utilized, instead of the AReU list.
